STONE SOUR To Play Free Concert In Kansas City This Thursday
May 15, 2006STONE SOUR — the band featuring SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root — will play a special free concert on Thursday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. outside the Beaumont Club (4050 Pennsylvania Ave) in Kansas City, Missouri. The show, which was announced this morning on the "Johnny Dare Morning Show" on 98.9 The Rock, will feature "special surprises."
STONE SOUR recently announced the addition of drummer Roy Mayorga (ex-SOULFLY, most recently a touring member of SEPULTURA) as a full-fledged member of the group.
STONE SOUR's sophomore CD, "Come What(ever) May", will be released by Roadrunner Records on August 22. Click here to watch a clip of the band working in the studio, with a rough cut of new track "Reborn" used as the soundtrack.
STONE SOUR recently shot a video for the song "30/30-150" in Los Angeles with director Paul Brown (MÖTLEY CRÜE, OTEP). A second clip — for the track "Through Glass" — is expected to be lensed during the coming weeks.
"Come What(ever) May" was recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Nick Rasculinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER) and marks the group's first effort since the departure of drummer Joel Ekman.
STONE SOUR's new album will follow up the group's 2002 self-titled debut, which went gold and featured the hit single, "Bother".
